Sorry for beeing away last weeks... but I do have quite busy and difficult time...
I was trying to recover taking only Tantum Verde... and it ended as quite serious thing...
I had to switch first to Nurofen +Heoralettern N and then into more serious staff - injections from Dexamethason and antibiotic Klacid SR.
Now, I am feeling ok... and I hope on Saturday I will climb again...
My current project is our (my and Domi's) blog.... Domi is back and blog is again alive.. we didn't miss a day until now :) ... so keep your fingers crossed :)

To photograph is a complex affair.

To release the shutter is to locate oneself at the intersection of arts, sciences, histories, politics and philosophy; an expansive and nuanced territory to navigate for which all the maps are superimposed with theories of rhetoric, representation and semiotics.

The Warsaw exhibition brings together award-winning student and graduate work from a selection of major UK and Polish universities, in the spirit of nurturing cross-cultural, cross-institutional dialogue. Common ground is always a good dialogue-starter, and the lived experience of commitment to the perplexingly promiscuous and confoundingly complex medium of photography is something shared by is devotees worldwide. Investment in the power of images and assemblages as a means of both grasping, and communicating one’s relation to the countless phenomena of the world is the proof of such a commitment, and perhaps what connects all the works presented in this exhbition.

Whether a quasi-cosmos or a fiction-augmented documentary, elaborate installation or incidental abstraction, photography is deployed not to report, but to reference, reconfigure and create anew in images. After all, there is no territory any more, remember? We kick up reproductions from the map underfoot while bumping our heads on the simulations in cyberspace. A camera on the waist helps tidy up the mess.

W “Ekspozycji” nie chodzi o promocję kogolwiek lub czegokolwiek. Interesuje nas to co w fotografii nazwane i zdefiniowane. Interesuje nas kultura wizualna – samo pojęcie jak i to, co ono za sobą niesie. Lubimy postmodernizm, pomimo tak silnej eksploatacji owego pojęcia, gdyż w końcu wiemy,że można więcej, ciekawiej oraz inaczej. Łączymy i rozdzielamy – dokument z konceptualną wizją, portret z fotografią minimalistyczną. Nikomu nie mówimy stanowczego “nie” – nawet fanom Cindy Sherman. Przynajmniej nie od razu. Nie chcemy białych ścian i grzecznie powieszonych ładnych obrazków. Chcemy świeżej krwi w fotografii! Chcemy rozmawiać o fotografii – nie tylko o jej historii lub o tym czy Jeff Wall jest rzeczywiście tak niesamowity jak go malują. Chcemy rozmawiać o tym co możemy zrobić ze zdjęciem, jak je pokazać. Mowiąc o przestrzeni używamy slowa “sztuka”; “narzędzie”. Chcemy niezbyt ostrą szablą w konwencji, gdyż respektujemy historię i wciaż jesteśmy zdania, iz Lewis W. Hine miał swięta rację mowiąc “Gdybym potrafłl opowiedzieć historie słowami, nie musiałbym dzwigać aparatu”.

Skupiamy się na niezależnych projektach kuratorskich pracując z tymi, którzy mają wizję. Zapraszamy do wspołpracy galerie, niezależnych kuratorow oraz czasem dajemy sobie radę zupełnie sami.

Tym razem w przestrzenii warszawskich “1500m2 do wynajecia” zastanawiamy się czym jest “polska fotografia”. Zapraszając zdolną polską krew mieszamy ją z ciekawym i zagranicznym roztworem. Pytamy czy i jak bardzo spojrzenia na kulturę wizualną mogą się różnić. Jak bardzo owe pojęcie może być pomijane lub nadinterpretowywane. Chcemy wiedzieć gdzie w polskiej fotografii stawia się granice. Pokażemy czym ona jest dla artystow rezydujących w Europie Zachodniej.

Stalking is a term commonly used to refer to unwanted, obsessive attention by individuals (and sometimes groups of people) to others. Stalking behaviors are related to harassment and intimidation. The word "stalking" is used, with some differing meanings, in psychology and psychiatry and also in some legal jurisdictions as a term for a criminal offense. It may also be used to refer to criminal offences or civil wrongs that include conduct which some people consider to be stalking, such as those described in law as "harassment" or similar terms"

aga: All started with a task assigned by David Alan Harvey at Burn Magazine. We were asked to take self portrait using a window as a frame (http://www.burnmagazine.org/dialogue/2011/08/comic-book-a-new-reality-show/)

domi: I saw Aga’s comment, I could easily figure out that she is Polish like me, so I sent her an email, just to say “hello”

aga: we exchanged a few emails and very soon we found out that we have so much in common…

domi: both Polish, photographers, living abroad…we are even the same age

aga: …so we got this crazy idea that we could get to know each other better by the pictures…finally we are photographers, aren’t we?

domi: every day each of us takes one picture on the same subject

aga: it might be anything…self portrait, an object, an activity or any idea…

domi: and we publish it here

Asia just came today to visit me in Bucharest..
It wasn't so easy for her...
Her adventures started today in Poland when a taxi driver didn't know that there are reconstructions on the way to the airport and he drove the wrong way.. later when she finally got to the airport she found out that her flight to Warsaw was canceled... LOT airlines took her with a bus to the airport in Krakow and she flu to Warsaw... but... later in Warsaw she almost missed the plane to Bucharest.. in Bucharest taxi driver took her to the wrong address, finally when she found my apartment, she had to stay at my home because guys from aircondition supposed to come to fix my AC system...
so, she was brave enough to open a door in the country she is first time in her life and she doesn't speak Romanian and let strangers to come to my apartment :)

Yeah.. the hollidays without adventure would be borring :)

We know each other since 12 years. She is definatelly one of my VERY BEST friends...

It's amazing to see Bucharest through eyes of someone who is here for the first time... seems that it is so dreamy place not only for me...
To park a car like on the photo above you really need to have imagination...

Sorry.. last days I didn't have any time to write on my blog ...

Tomorrow I will be last day in Poland and than I am going fly back home (yes, I am Polish but my home is now in Bucuresti)... It was great to see my friends... but I didn't manage to see all of them.

I have seen Monika, Marysia with her daughter and boyfriend, Popek with his wife and his dog, Bergi, Grzegorz, Daria with her brother and husband, Karina with her sister, Marzenka and her husband, Halinka with her boyfriend, Jacek and today... Agata with her daughter Lenka.

Unfortunately I didn't have time to go to Krakow and meet with Karol and Pawel (next time I will!!!! :))

Again, a few photographs of Lenka, daughter from one of my best friends.

my bike is finally in Bucharest

My dreams are becoming true... finally I have a bike in Bucharest. My beloved bike just got here today. I picked it up outside of Bucharest today early morning... it's still not in one piece.. but I hope soon with a little help from my friend it will be ready to ride! (ok, not so little help.. it's huge help, he just drove with me at 6 am to get my bike from other city).

My climbing shoes are there, too! I already found a few climbing centers here in Bucharest.

I am extremely grateful to have friends who do so much for me. Last months I was able to get so much help from my friends and people who I just met that it's just embarrassing. I have WONDERFUL people around me here in Bucharest and WONDERFUL people waiting for me in Katowice.
